It is officially fall, so it is time for some fall soup recipes.
Fall and winter are my favorite cooking seasons because they are all about comfort food.
I love it when soups, stews, chili, and baked goods are back on the menu plan.
One of the best things about soups, stews, and chili is that they are usually one-dish meals. You can serve them with bread or salad, but you don’t have to. A bowl of soup is a delicious meal all on its own.
Since it is fall and soup season, I thought I would share some of my favorite soups for fall.
All of these soups are easy to make. They can also be made gluten-free by reading labels and using gluten-free ingredients like corn tortillas.
Let’s start with Butternut Squash and Bacon Soup. Nothing says fall quite like butternut squash and this soup is a delicious way to serve it.
Here is where I admit that I don’t love butternut squash, but I love this soup.
The base is part potato and part butternut squash. The potato helps tone down the flavor of the squash. It gives you the benefit of the squash without it being overpowering in the soup.
If you need a soup for fall, this is a great one to try.
Chicken Queso Soup is one of my favorite soups this time of year. It has all the flavors of queso in a bowl of soup.
It is so easy to make using ingredients that I almost always have on hand. It is also a great soup to serve a crowd.
My daughter and I both love broccoli soup. I have made my Copycat version of Panera Broccoli soup for years. It is a family favorite.
However, I tried Martha Stewart’s Broccoli soup recipe last year, and we really enjoyed it. Now, we have two broccoli soup recipes that we love.
Martha’s recipe contains some potatoes, making it creamy and delicious.
I first shared the recipe for Slow Cooked Baked Potato Soup in 2008.
That was the year I started this website, so it was one of the first recipes I shared here. Years later it is still a recipe that I make often this time of year.
This Bacon Tomato Soup recipe is a must-try if you love homemade tomato soup. It takes your basic tomato soup to the next level.
If you love fajitas, you will enjoy this Chicken Fajita Soup. It is a nice change from a basic chicken tortilla soup.
I originally shared Crock Pot Carrot Soup back in 2011. My daughter loves carrots, and she loved this soup when she was younger.
This Cheesy Cauliflower Soup is similar to a broccoli cheese soup but with cauliflower. It is an excellent soup for those who don’t like broccoli but love cauliflower.
I would love to hear your favorite soup for this time of year.
